TEMECULA--It’s not that often you get to taste an Amador County Zinfandel next to, say, bottles from Lodi and Sonoma County. In the first California Regional Wine Tasting event held in nearly 20 years, the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association will host wines and wineries from Amador, Calaveras, Lodi, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa Valley, Paso Robles, Santa Cruz Mountains, Sonoma County, Livermore Valley, San Diego, Sonoma Valley, Santa Barbara and Temecula Valley. Fourteen wineries will be pouring more than 100 wines. The event will be held March 11, 2006 at the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa in Temecula.

The event gives wine enthusiasts and growers a unique opportunity to taste, side-by-side, what really makes each region unique—whether it’s growing styles, climate, regional taste biases…or any of a hundred other factors that go into making wine.

Tickets for the event are $45 per person and include the tasting, a souvenir glass and hors d’oeuvres prepared by guest chef Dan Saito. For additional information call 800-801-9463 or purchase tickets at temeculawines.org.
